How to Choose the Right Commuter Bike for Your Needs

Getting an electric bike is exciting! You want to put it together immediately and want to hit the road. Before you get going, learn how you can prevent 5 common ebike mistakes when riding.

Did you know? 16% of Americans have used a bicycle while 7% have used a motorcycle in the last 12 months. However, 7% ride an e-bike at least once a month.

More people are beginning to see the benefits of riding a bike. With so many bikes and e-bikes in the market, deciding which bicycle model to choose for yourself is not easy.

For example, at Rize Bikes, we sell different kinds of e bikes products including the fat tire motorcycle, electric road bikes, and vintage electric bikes.

Before you go on to decide which bike to get, we wrote this article specifically to address some of the questions you might have to pick the right commuter bike for your needs.

Keep reading to learn all about it!

Understanding Your Commuting Needs

Everyone has different preferences for commuting bikes. Some people prefer a bike that does not go too fast, while others are seeking a fast bike to get from Point A to Point B.

Some people also prefer a bike with comfy seats. This can be important especially if you tend to bike for long distances at a time.

You also want to consider the bike’s handle grips. This helps with making sure you can hold the bike securely while riding.

Bike suspension is also a big one. Bad suspensions will cause you to have a bumpy ride when you go over potholes. Luckily for you, some of our electric bikes such as our popular Blade 2 have dual suspensions. This gives you added comfort when you ride!

Bike Size

As for the size of the bike, getting the right bike frame size is crucial to ensure you can cycle comfortably.

If you are unsure of what bike model you should get, please take a look at our size chart which will tell you the height of an ideal biker based on a specific bike.

This is an example of our City MD bike. You can be anywhere from 5 2” to 6 2” and still be able to ride this e-bike with no problems at all.

If you will be riding on steep hills or unpaved roads, you may want to consider a bike with multiple gears and wider tires to give you better traction.

Keep in mind that bikes with disc brakes provide better-stopping power compared to the traditional rim brakes. This may not be a problem for those who live in hot and dry climates.

But for those who live in rainy conditions or a place with lots of hills, this will definitely come in handy.

eBike Popularity

One of the main reasons why e-bikes are gaining in popularity is due to their battery and motor. This allows an average commuter to go long distances without feeling tired at all.

Furthermore, you can now easily go uphill without needing much effort at all. All our e-bikes can go up to 70-75km on a single charge.

This makes it a no-brainer option for those who need an e-bike that will give them enough juice to go anywhere they want to.

However, all these benefits do come with a cost. The average e-bike is considerably much more expensive compared to regular bikes without a motor and battery.

If you are unsure of which one to get, feel free to contact us at Rize Bikes. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Types of Commuter Bikes: Which is Right for You?

When making a choice on which commuter bikes to get, you always have to weigh the bike options currently available.

If you are on a budget, a regular bicycle might be the one for you. However, if you are looking to get something that will make your commute more enjoyable, e-bikes are the way to go!

eBikes will make your commute a walk in the park. You basically won’t get tired since you do not need to pedal if you don’t want to.

For those who are looking for a lighter bike, our ebike road models will do just the trick for you. This is suitable for those who are also travelling light.

Another option is our fat tire off road motorcycle models. They are ideal for those looking to ride in some difficult terrain such as mud.
